Today, I'm going to show you how to study with Gemini. These are some serious pro-tips, and I've included everything, so pay close attention. The way you study is about to change completely.

Have you ever heard of CoT, or Chain of Thought? It's okay if you haven't. It's the hottest concept among people who are serious about using AI, seen as the key secret to making AI smarter. But honestly, for someone who doesn't know how to code, even the name sounds a bit intimidating.

In this video, I'm going to show you the entire process, from A to Z, of how I use Google Gemini to learn and play with this complex AI concept in an easy and fun way. This isn't just an informational video. It's a proposal for a new 'method of learning' in the age of AI.

By the end of this video, you will not only have an innovative study method to make any new knowledge your own using Gemini, but you'll also have a perfect understanding of what CoT is. Welcome to the era of studying AI with AI. Let's get started right now.

  1. Get Tutored by Gemini (Learning the CoT Concept)

Every learning journey begins with meeting a good teacher. I assigned Gemini the role of a top AI expert and requested a one-on-one private tutoring session just for me.

"You are a top professor teaching AI at Stanford University. From now on, think of me as your student. Explain the concept of 'Chain of Thought (CoT)' in the simplest way possible, based on the latest academic papers, so that even a non-developer from a liberal arts background with zero coding knowledge can have a 'eureka!' moment. Instead of complex analogies, it would be even better if you could explain it using a 'cooking recipe' analogy."

I didn't just ask it to tell me. I assigned it a persona, specified my knowledge level, and even suggested an analogy. Look at the result. Gemini began to explain calmly and logically, just like a real professor. It brilliantly compared CoT to 'an AI reading a recipe (the problem-solving process) out loud, step-by-step, before making a difficult dish (the question).' While older AIs would just toss you the finished dish, an AI using CoT organizes its thought process as it cooks—'First, I'll prep the ingredients, then I'll make the sauce...'—which increases the probability of success with more complex dishes.

From a PM's perspective, this gives us a crucial hint about how to collaborate with AI. It means we're no longer just demanding the final output from AI; we can now deliberate and review the process of reaching that output together. For now, understanding the concept is a complete success.

  1. Check Your Knowledge (Custom True/False Quizzes from the AI)

A great teacher doesn't just stop at explaining a concept. They always check if the student has understood it properly. I assigned Gemini the role of a 'quiz master.'

"Professor, thank you for the explanation. To check if I've understood the CoT concept we just covered, please create five True/False quizzes. Please make the first question very easy, but gradually increase the difficulty so that the later questions have traps or require applying the concept to be solved."

Gemini immediately created five custom True/False quizzes.

  1. CoT is a technique that makes an AI's response speed faster. (False) In fact, the thinking process can actually slow it down. This is a basic concept check.
  2. CoT prompting increases the likelihood that an AI can find and correct its own logical errors, but if the initial prompt points in the wrong direction, it can lead to an even more incorrect answer. (True) A very high-level application question that asks about both the advantages and limitations.

What do you think? These aren't just for checking comprehension; they're well-designed questions that make you think about the pros and cons of CoT. Through these quizzes, I was able to gain a deeper, more multi-faceted understanding of CoT.

  1. Auditory Learning (The Potential and Limits of Audio Overview)

Taking it a step further, I wanted to use this tutoring session during my downtime. The idea was to learn by listening during my commute or while working out. Another Google service, NotebookLM, has an amazing feature called Audio Overview, which turns text into something like an AI podcast.

So, I made the same request to Gemini. "Please summarize our entire conversation about CoT so far into a 5-minute podcast script. Then, generate an audio file so I can listen to it immediately using the Audio Overview feature."

Gemini did a fantastic job creating the script. It was very natural, formatted as a dialogue with me asking questions and the AI professor answering. However, unfortunately, it seems the Audio Overview feature isn't fully integrated into the Gemini app itself yet, as generating the audio file took a very long time, and the result was unsatisfactory.

From a PM's perspective, this shows that Google's various AI features are still fragmented. But on the flip side, it's also a strong signal that all these features will soon be integrated into Gemini. I'll show you more about this 'Audio Overview' in a future video where I cover NotebookLM.

  1. Visual Learning (Infographic Visualization)

If auditory learning is still a work in progress, we can turn to visual learning. Sometimes, a single picture is more powerful than a thousand words. Especially for a PM with a design background like me, visualization is the most familiar way to learn.

"Create an infographic that allows even a non-expert to understand the core concept, working principle, and benefits of CoT at a glance. Please use a simple and intuitive style, and use my channel's main color, orange, as an accent."

The result was truly amazing. Gemini visualized the core flow of CoT—'Question → Chain of Thought (Step 1, Step 2...) → Final Answer'—in a very clean diagram, using the orange accent I requested. A concept that felt so complex was perfectly organized in my head with this single image.

  1. The Ultimate Study Method? (Failure of Infographic + Question Feature)

Now, this is where I let my PM imagination run wild. I tried to apply the core concept of my channel, 'Vibecoding.' "Turn this infographic image itself into an 'interactive webpage' where I can click on a part I'm curious about, and the AI will explain that part in more detail." I was imagining the ultimate study method: a 'living textbook' where my visual materials and the AI could communicate in real-time.

But... unfortunately, this was a failure. Gemini politely declined, saying, "Adding interactive features to an image and turning it into a webpage is currently beyond my capabilities." It seems AI hasn't quite reached the point where it can perfectly combine images and code to create a complex interactive app 'in one go.' However, I'm confident that this too will be possible within a few months.

Conclusion: The Paradigm of Studying is Changing

So, what did you think? Today, we saw how to use Gemini not just as a simple search tool, but as a personal tutor, a custom quiz creator, and a visual designer. Of course, there were clear limitations, like with audio generation and interactive app creation, but one thing is certain: AI is fundamentally changing the paradigm of 'studying.'

We no longer need to struggle with rote memorization. We can leave the vast amounts of information to the AI. Instead, what has become far more important is the ability to play with knowledge: the ability to ask the right questions to understand the essence of a concept, to internalize knowledge through quizzes, and to structure it with infographics.

I am convinced that in the future, the way we study will fundamentally—and much more enjoyably—change because of AI. AI is the most powerful tool that will transform boring memorization subjects into exciting subjects of exploration.
